What is TeKnoWave?
TeKnoWave Inc. is a national Indigenous non-profit corporation headquartered in Ottawa. Established in 2000 by First Nation Elders and rooted through the proclamation made unanimously by 89 Chiefs that TeKnoWave Inc. was the first National Aboriginal IT Organization in Canada, we serve First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. We oversee capacity-building programs that enhance Indigenous self-reliance through economic and community development, heritage and cultural awareness, talent development, adult education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
In 2012 TeKnoWave Inc. began offering Healthcare and Business Administration diploma programs in response to the growing need for Indigenous front line and administrative workers in community health, clinical and government sectors.
We are currently completing a feasibility study in partnership with the Federal Government to assess the need for a novel Indigenous Trauma and Addictions Worker Diploma Program which will focus on traditional healing methods as well as modern methods of trauma and addiction care. We rate amongst the country’s highest in recruitment, retention and post-grad employment in the sector, and in partnership with post-secondary institutions, TeKnoWave awards post-secondary diplomas.
